The first story tellers were the cavemen. They used drawings in the sand, grunts and groans, facial expressions and hand gestures to tell their stories. Language and the written word gave the story tellers new tools to spin their tales. Photography gave the visual to these stories and with the advent of motion pictures the stories came alive.
The Weird Michigan Wax Museum is a different type of story teller. We use written word, pictures, life size figures, lighting, props and sound to tell our stories. Our dioramas feature life-size characters to recreate history and folklore. In several of our exhibits, our characters tell their own story.
Michigan is known for its abundance of colorful characters and curious happenings and the Weird Michigan Wax Museum brings their stories to life.
